Shadowmoon Valley Rares

There are a total of three rare spawns located in Shadowmoon Valley. All three of them are required for the Bloody Rare Achievement. NPCScan Overlay is fairy close with all of their patrol areas, I did tweak the map a little bit below however to make it a little more accurate. 

Ambassador Jerikkar
Ambassador Jerikkar is a level 69 satyr demon that can be found patrolling around any one of five different locations in Shadowmoon Valley. These locations are marked in blue on the above map, and they are (starting at the northernmost point and moving clockwise): Coilskar Point, Ruins of Baa'ri, Dragonmaw Fortress, Eclipse Point and Illidari Point. 


He isn't incredibly obvious when he is up, but he does stand out a bit from the mobs around him because of his bright red color and huge sword. He should also be fairly simple to take down for anyone around his level. He has a 4 second silence and an annoying pally-style bubble he can cast on himself called Diplomatic Immunity. Rather appropriate for an Ambassador don't ya think? 

Netherstorm Rares

There are three rare spawns located in Netherstorm. All three (unfortunately) are required for the Bloody Rare Achievement. I say unfortunately because one of them is a highly desirable hunter pet. Nuramoc (a gorgeous chimaera pet) is the only rare unique hunter pet in ALL of outland.

Ever-Core the Punisher
Ever-Core the Punisher is a level 68 arcane guardian that can be found patrolling in three different areas in Netherstorm. He patrols in full circles around Manaforge B'Naar and Manaforge Ultris, and on the southern side of Manaforge Ara. His patrol areas are highlighted in blue on the map above.


He is very obvious when he's up because he is quite large and he looks very different from the mobs around him. He is not difficult to kill, unless your naked or something. He has only a couple of abilities and those are Arcane Explosion and Suppression. So yeah, casters might find him slightly annoying if too close, otherwise hes cake. Mmmmmm.

Blade's Edge Mountains Rares

There are a total of three rare spawns in Blade's Edge Mountains. All three of them are required for the Bloody Rare Achievement. NPCScan overlay is very close for all of them, but I still fine-tuned the map a little to show slightly more accurate patrol areas.

Hemathion
Hemathion is a level 68 dragon that spawns on the Ogri'la plateau in Blade's Edge Mountains. He can be found walking on the ground in two separate patrol areas. One of those is just north of Ogri'la, and the other is just south of it. His patrol area is highlighted in blue on the above map. Please note that although NPCScan has the entire southern area highlighted that he just patrols around the edge of it.

This mob does not fly. You will only ever find him walking on the ground. Also, if you find him on a toon of similar level if might be helpful to know that he does fear, so be careful of the surrounding mobs in the area. Other than that he's pretty easy to take out, his only other ability is a breath attack.

Nagrand Rares

There are a total of three rare spawns in Nagrand, however only two of them are required for the Bloody Rare Achievement. The two needed for Bloody Rare are Goretooth and Voidhunter Yar. Although Bro'Gaz the Clanless is not required as part of the achievement I will still cover him in this post. 

Goretooth
Goretooth is a level 65 crocolisk that can be found in four different areas in Nagrand. Specifically those are in the lake just south of the Throne of Elements, the lake south of Sunspring Post, in the waters around Halaa, and the small body of water south of the road leading into Terokkar Forest. His patrol areas are highlighted in blue on the map above.

If spawned in the water around Halaa he can be spotted from the air as he moves in and out of the shallow water and he is quite large. If he is in either of the deep lakes or the road into Terokkar you will probably not be able to see him from the air as he will most likely be completely submerged under water. NPCScan, Silverdragon and targeting macros will still be able to pick him up though. If you don't use any addons to hunt rares /tar gore will work just fine and Tracker Snacks will show him on your mini map if hes up. He is the only beast that spawns in each of these locations, so if you see that dot you'll know it's him!

Terokkar Forest Rares

There are a total of four rare spawns in Terokkar Forest. Three of them are part of the Bloody Rare Achievement, all of which I will cover in this post. The fourth rare in this zone is a bit less known about, and that is Hawkbane, a black and white striped cat that spawns in Skettis.

Like the other Outland rares these don't share a spawn timer, and I'm pretty sure they have all been nerfed to some extent as well.

Crippler
Crippler is a level 65 bone golem that spawns in the southern part of Terokkar Forest. He can spawn in a few different locations including the Ring of Observance (which is in the center of Auchindoun) and Northwest, Northeast and Southeast of Auchindoun in the bone wastes. (His patrol routes are highlighted in blue on the map above.)

He seems to share the typical spawn timer as other rares in Outland, but I have read on some Wowhead comments that it may be possible to move up that timer a bit by killing broken skeletons outside of Auchindoun. How true that is I don't know, more than likely it could have been a coincidence that Crippler spawned right after killing a few skeletons for them. I've never experienced this myself.

Crippler drops one noteworthy item, and that is the Dragonbone Ring. It is a level 63 boe ring with a random enchant.

Zangarmarsh Rares

There are three rares that spawn in Zangarmarsh. All three of them are needed for the Bloody Rare Achievement. NPCScan Overlay does a pretty decent job indicating where they can all be found, but again isn't 100% accurate. I fine-tuned the map a little below. 

These mobs don't share a spawn timer (I've often times found one right after another), and have all been nerfed to some extent. 

Hellfire Peninsula Rares

I should have written about these rares earlier, but I've just been so distracted by all the fun rare hunter pets I've been taming recently. Now that I've gotten that out of my system (at least for a little while) I'll be paying more attention to getting these posts done. I'll be adding all of the Outland rares by zone in the next few weeks, even the ones not required for the Bloody Rare Achievement.

There are three rare spawns that can be found in Hellfire Peninsula and they are all part of the Bloody Rare Achievement. NPCScan overlay does a pretty good job of showing where they patrol, I do want to point out however that the overlay is not 100% correct. I have highlighted the overlay with patrol routes that are a little bit more accurate on the map below.

These rares do not share a spawn timer, and its even possible for more than one to be up in the zone at a time. All of them are also quite trivial for of level toons, and especially trivial for people decked out in boa gear. 

Mekthorg the Wild
Mekthorg the Wild is a level 61 rare fel orc who spawns in Hellfire Peninsula and patrols in four different locations (indicated in blue on the map above). Three of the patrol areas are close to Hellfire Citadel and the other is a path around Zeth'Gor. On NPCScan overlay it shows two separate locations for him, however he actually patrols four areas. I went over the NPCScan overlay and highlighted the locations where he patrols with brighter colors. He will not move between the patrol areas once spawned in.


He drops a blue quality boe level 60 chest piece that can be any armor type with a random enchant.  The cloth one is called Demonweave Raiment, the leather one Demon-Cured Tunic, the mail one Demon-Forged Hauberk, and the plate one, Demon-Forged Chestguard.

Hawkbane

Hawkbane Untamed

Hawkbane is a level 70 rare white striped cat that can be found high up in Skettis Plateau in south eastern Terokkar Forest. I have marked the area that he spawns at in orange on the map below. His new spawn location is behind one of the tall Skettis dwellings. He stands in the middle of three dead arakkoa (one is which he will be eating for lunch) who for some reason show up as hostile humanoids when using the track beasts feature on a hunter.

He is no longer elite and he has absolutely nothing of value on his loot table.

He does however make a nice hunter pet. The only other cat in game with the same color and model is King Bangalash in Northern Stranglethorn Vale.

Nuramoc

Nuramoc is a level 70 rare spawn chimaera with approximately 14k hp. He can be found in Netherstorm in several different locations which are indicated on the map below in green. He shouldn't be too difficult to hunt down any more as there aren't really many people questing through Netherstorm these days. 

 

Nuramoc is part of the Medium Rare and Bloody Rare achievements. He drops four different items which are all level 68 bind on equip pants (of all armor types) with a random enchant.
