The Evalcharr

The Evalcharr is a level 19 aggressive rare chimaera that can be found just west of Gallywix Pleasure Palace in Azshara. (I have indicated where he can be found in red on the map below.)  He is desirable as a hunter pet as he has a unique paint job. There are two other rare chimaeras in the game with unique skins and those are Nuramoc (Netherstorm) and The Razza (Feralas).

The Evalcharr is in the Chimaera family of exotic cunning pets. He can only be tamed by hunters that have the top-tier talent from the Beast Mastery tree Beast Mastery which allows the taming of exotic pets.

The Evalcharr can be found with NPCScan. You will need to add it, his NPCScan ID is 8660.

You can also use this macro to help find and tame this guy:
/tar The Evalcharr
/stopmacro [noexists]
/cast Tame Beast

Unfortunately for those looking for him, he is on a relatively long spawn timer. It seems he can spawn anywhere from about 32 to 48 hours since he was last tamed or killed.

  1. GREAT GUIDE!!!!

I love this blog. Thanks to you, i have tamed, most of the rares now.

I would also like to add another rare chimaera, Prince Lakma . He can be found at 20.2,9.2 and 23.0,6.0, between Silithus and Feralas. He patrols there, he is a blue version of The Evalcharr, and has a 5 hour spawn timer, plus an interesting story, dating back to vanilla. When he spawns, he does stealth for a few moments, when not engaged. So, if NPC Scan goes off, and you cant find him, thats why. Just run around that area til he comes back.

    Thanks for the blog

    1. Thanks for the kind words, and for reminding me about that guy! I had planned on doing a post on him quite a while back and just got totally caught up in other things. Will add a post on him when I get a chance. ;)
