Prince Lakma (The Last Chimaerok)

A couple of weeks ago one of my readers reminded me about this rare. I had taken all sorts of screenshots of him over a year ago and somehow just never got around to writing about him. Well, I've been following this guy around for the past few days, and with bags chock full of Chimaerok Tenderloin - I'm ready to give you all the skinny on him.

Prince Lakma (perhaps the son of Lord Lakmaeran?) is a level 87 rare chimaera with approximately 4.2M health. You can find him flying around the lush green area in the mountains between Feralas and Silithus. I marked his patrol route in red on the maps below.

Now here is the interesting thing about this rare - because his patrol route spans two different zones (and I'm assuming because of CRZ) it is possible to find two versions of him up at any given time.

Feralas Rare Spawns

There are a total of 13 rare spawns that can be found in Feralas ranging from level 35 - 40. Three of these rares (Skarr the Broken, Mushgog and The Razza) used to spawn in the Dire Maul arena and drop blue-quality loot, including the notable Orb of Deception. Since the cataclysm they have been spread across the zone and now there are no rares that currently spawn in the arena. They also drop green quality loot since they've been moved.

Five of these rares are tamable by hunters, and The Razza is highly sought after by BM specced hunters because of his beautiful unique blue and white armored coloration. The Razza also has his own post on this blog where I have a little more information on him and some more screen shots for anyone interested. The other four tamable rares in the zone are not unique.

These rares do not share spawn timers, and their spawn times all seem pretty similar and range probably somewhere between 1-2+ hours. Like other low level rares they give a ton of experience for those leveling in the area.

Also I'd like to note that as far as I know, Diamond Head cannot currently be reached by characters that don't have a flying mount. He spawns in a pond at the top of the eastern plateau of the Twin Colossals. The only way up there for characters around his level post-cata would be through a summon or riding on the back of a friend's 2-seater flying mount.

Snarler

Snarler is a level 39 rare black wolf that can be found patrolling north of the road in eastern Feralas. I have indicated where he can be found in red on the map below.

He drops the typical green item and a decent amount of experience for people leveling.

This particular wolf used to be highly sought after by hunters because he originally had an incredibly high amount of base magic resistance. That was fixed by Blizzard many moons ago however. He currently shares the same abilities as all of the other wolves in game but still makes a pretty nice looking pet. If your looking for this particular model and color and are having trouble finding him; there are level 16-17 elite wolves in Redridge Mountains, and level 32-33 wolves in the Hinterlands that look exactly like him.

Arash-ethis

Arash-ethis is a level 36 rare white wind serpent that can be found patrolling in one small area in north western Feralas, just south of Camp Ataya. I have indicated where he can be found in red on the map below.

He drops the typical green item and a decent amount of experience for people leveling.

He is also tamable by hunters and would make a nice pet for people who come across him. He shares the same model and color as a few other mobs in game, the most easily obtainable being the level 40 Cloud Serpents in Thousand Needles. He also has a twin rare spawn in Dustwallow Marsh called Hayoc.

Qirot

Qirot is a level 39 rare wasp that can be found inside or outside of either of the two silithid caves in The Writhing Deep in Feralas. (I have indicated where he can be found in red on the map below.) He drops the typical green item and decent experience for levelers. He shares the same model as many other wasps throughout Azeroth, but he is the only one that is white in color that is tamable at level 39. The only other white models available are located inside The Ruins of Ahn'Qiraj and the Temple of Ahn'Qiraj. You also do not need to be beast mastery spec to tame Qirot.

The Razza

The Razza is a level 40 aggressive rare chimaera that used to spawn in the Dire Maul arena. He now spawns in a ruined gnoll camp west of New Thalanarr up in the mountains. (I have indicated where he can be found in red on the map below.)  He is desirable as a hunter pet as he has a unique blue and white skin. There are two other rare chimaeras with unique skins in the game and those are The Evalcharr (Azshara) and Nuramoc (Netherstorm).
