Lost and Found Achievement: Where to Find Lost Treasures in Pandaria

One of the things I've been having a lot of fun doing in game recently is hunting for the rare lost treasures across Pandaria. These things are more rare than the actual "rares" making them a really fun challenge to try and find. These items are all part of a series of achievements starting with Lost and Found, Finder's Keepers, One Man's Trash... and finally Is Another Man's Treasure. The final achievement grants the title <the Relic Hunter>.

Yaungol Fire Carrier
Most of the items that count toward the achievements are very interesting in that they are bind on account. These are bind on account weapons that can be sent to your level 85-86 alts! There is something for pretty much every class too (except for hunters, they kind of got shafted here). Most of these rare items are looted from containers of the same name as the item itself. A few items that count for the achievement are from chests that can contain several different objects. There are also rare npcs that will give players an item upon interacting with them which will then despawn immediately after. There are also a couple of ultra-rare cooking recipes too!

WARNING: When you find an item, make sure that you will not be interrupted while picking it up. If you move when trying to loot, the loot window can disappear and the item you were trying to loot will disappear along with it.

I've marked locations on the map below to indicate where each item can be found, along with a brief description further detailing the more precise area to find each object. I have also color-coded them by different type of item. For example: all of the items on the map below marked in green are from npcs that can be added right into NPCScan. NPCScan will pick up these rare npcs if they are up, but they have to be added manually.

Map is quite detailed - Please Click to Enlarge
(To see an even larger image of this map you can also right click the image and view it in another tab. From there you should be able to zoom even further.)

In order to receive the final achievement you will need to find at least 20 of the listed objects below. I have grouped them by zone, and the letters on the left correspond to the map above. The links on the left are of the container or npc to be found, and the right links are what you will get from each. (Be aware that a specific character can only see and loot each item once.)

Tons of New Rares Coming in 5.1, Including New Hunter Pets!

As many are aware, patch 5.1 is going to be bringing a lot of changes. One of the changes that I'm most excited about is the incredible amount of new rares being introduced. Not only do we get to see some new rares in Pandaria - we are also getting over a hundred new tamable rares throughout the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor!

New Hunter Pets:

Qem - Pink "Brain" Bug. (Click any image on this page to enlarge.)
I'm not going to list every single new tamable rare (Petopia has already done that here), but I do want to share some of the ones that I thought were the most noteworthy.

Several of these new rares have skins that were not previously tamable or are brand new looks entirely!

There are three new "brain" bugs that can be found lurking around the hives in Silithus. There is a beautiful new sapphire owl that is tamable at level 25 (pictured left). There are seven new spiked wind serpents with absolutely gorgeous color-schemes ranging from level 27 - 53. There is a beautiful hunched striped green cat (think skarr's model + Winna's Kitten color scheme) that can be found in the Swamp of Sorrows, and another new black and white striped hunched cat in Felwood. The Arcane Wyrms in Coldarra have finally become tamable, and a new red wyrm has been introduced in Silithus. There is even a tamable monkey wearing a hat!

Several other new rares' looks were once only available in raids such as AQ40 and Blackwing Lair. Never could get a friend to help you tame Chromaggus? Don't fret - there is now an alternative that looks exactly the same! Chromehound is a level 49 rare that patrols around the inside of Blackrock Mountain. Several of the more colorful wasp models that were once only found in Zul'Gurub or AQ40 have also made an appearance out in the world.

Many other models that were once available only at higher levels can now be tamed by hunters much lower in level. Nether Rays and Sporebats (previously only tamable in Outland) can now be tamed in the level 40 - 50 range. A new level 48 boar in the Searing Gorge shares the same model as the blue & white felboars on Ogri'la Plateau. There are a couple of beetles that were originally found in Halls of Origination/Uldum that can now be found at level 27 and 39. Even shale spiders, which we previously wouldn't have seen until hitting deepholm can now be found as low as level 29 (of course not tamable until level 69 though because they are exotic).

Some hunters might be pleased to know that there is now an alternative to both Nuromoc and The Razza. Both of these new rares can be found in Winterspring.

Nuromoc's Cousin Perhaps?
I'm still in the information gathering/massive screenshot collecting stage of these new pets, and I do plan to have them all mapped out sometime in the (hopefully) near future for your taming pleasure.

New Trackable Hunter Pet in Pandaria:

This new silkworm will be joining the ranks of the previous nine trackable hunter pets located throughout Pandaria when 5.1 goes live. He is level 90 and exotic, making him tamable by Beast Mastery hunters only.

Bombyx is going to be a little different from the previous trackable hunter pets. Instead of leaving actual footprints for tracks, he leaves bits of Heavily-Chewed Silkweed which look suspiciously like the actual silkweed herb. These "tracks" will make it quite difficult to tell which direction he is actually moving in once found, as they face no particular direction.

Bombyx also has a habit of making sharp turns and even stopping in place for long periods of time. Placing a flare in front of him to make him visible will prove to be much more difficult with this squirmy guy.

Once I have more screenies & video for Bombyx he will get his own post similar to his nine buddies.

New PVP Faction Rares in Krasarang Wilds:

In Pandaria we are going to see six new (non-pet related) rares in Krasarang Wilds connected to the new achievement: I'm In Your Base, Killing Your Dudes. These rares are each tied to a faction; three to Alliance and three to Horde. These rares can be found at their corresponding factions' base. As one would expect, rares from your own faction will appear friendly to you - while appearing hostile to the opposing faction.

Champion of Arms rares include: Dalan Nightbreaker (Alliance)/Kar Warmaker (Horde)

Champion of the Light rares include: Disha Fearwarden (Alliance)/Muerta (Horde)

Champion of the Shadows rares include: Marvis Harms (Alliance)/Ubunti the Shade (Horde)

These rares could potentially drop a Blood-Soaked Invitation. This is the item that will allow players entry into the Brawler's Guild (Fight Club for WoW). I imagine that this item will be the most highly sought-after from their loot tables, and that these rares will be very heavily camped for that particular item.

For the full list of items they can drop, and to see their abilities check out Perculia's post on Wowhead here.

Krasarang Wilds Rare Champions

Moving out of the Valley of the Four Winds and into Krasarang Wilds, we step away from vanity items and trinkets as the special rare drops - and move into epic pants! That's right, each one of the rares in this zone has a chance to drop their pants! Quite literally too, the pants are named after the respective rare that drops them. These pants are all epic, item level 440 and can be equipped at level 87. They are also all bind on equip, so they can be sold on the auction house or given to an alt. ^-^

The rares in this zone are all level 87, with health pools around 1.8M. They each have a 100% chance to drop an item level 420 rare quality bop helm of a random armor type and a small chance to drop a Small Bag of Goods.

As I have stated in a previous post - they all seem to spawn in around the same time, so if you run across a corpse or someone else fighting one of these rares it wouldn't hurt to check the rest of the spawn points to see if any others are up.

Ruun Ghostpaw (Pandaren)
Ruun spawns on the upper level of the Temple of the Red Crane. Those with flying mounts can simply fly right into the terrace he is on. Before engaging him in combat be sure to clear the add (Incarnation of Despair) that patrols down the hall in front of Ruun. This mob patrolling into you and using it's Last Grasp ability while engaged with Ruun has the potential to make things go bad fairly quickly.

Like other Pandaren Ruun's three abilities are Chi BurstHealing Mists and Spinning Crane Kick. The most important thing to know when taking him (and other Pandaren rares) down is to interrupt Healing Mists, and run away from Spinning Crane Kick. Ranged players should also stand within 15 yards of him to avoid his Chi Burst which deals some pretty massive damage.

Ruun has a small chance to drop Silent Leggings of the Ghostpaw.

Torik-Ethis (Mantid)
Torik-Ethis patrols a very small area in the very most western part of the zone, near the path leading into the Valley of the Four Winds. I recommend that any lowbies taking him out to clear some of the mobs out of the area before engaging him.

He has three abilities to be aware of: Blade FlurryTornado and Windsong. Tornado and Blade Flurry are the abilities to watch out for. The tornado will move around and deal massive damage to anyone it strikes. Blade Flurry should be avoided at all costs, it's casted as a cone in front of him and will pretty much destroy any level 85 who stands in it.

Torik-Ethis has a small chance to drop Torik-Ethis' Bloodied Legguards.

Arness the Scale (Saurok)
Arness the Scale spawns in the Sandy Shallows - just south of the Ruins of Dojan. He stands right in front of a large pile of treasure with two elite crabs on either side of him. Be careful when pulling him. Although the crabs are neutral, they will assist.

Arness's abilities are: Grappling HookVanishSmoked Blade and Vicious Rend. The most important of his abilities to watch out for is Smoked Blade. He will use this right after he breaks out of stealth. This ability can be avoided by either using an aoe ability while he's in stealth to break him out of it early, or by not letting him stealth in the first place. You will have a moment to hit him just before he disappears. If he does vanish entirely, get ready to use some defensive cool-downs.

Arness has a small chance to drop Arness's Scaled Leggings.

Qu'nas (Mogu Warrior)
Qu'nas spawns in front of a tent in The Krasari Ruins. He spawns in an area with a lot of mobs; if attempting him sub-level 90 it may be a good idea to clear some of them out before pulling him.

Qu'nas uses three different abilities, those are: Devastating ArcSummon Quilen and Titanic Strength. Devastating Arc is the ability to look out for here. It's a frontal attack that deals massive damage. Melee can simply run behind him and ranged shouldn't have much trouble moving out of the way. He periodically summons a Quilen add that does little damage. It can be cc'd or ignored.

Qu'nas has a small chance to drop Qu'nas' Apocryphal Legplates.

Gaarn the Toxic (Mogu Sorcerer)

Gaarn has several different spawn points around the Ruins of Dojan. Like several of the other rares in this zone, he can have a lot of adds around him. You should probably take them out if your going to attempt him on a lower level toon.

Gaarn really only has a couple of abilities to be aware of. Those are Shadowbolt and Voidcloud. Shadowbolt deals a moderate amount of damage and can be interrupted. Voidcloud hurts, it appears as a dark purple area on the ground and is VERY easy to notice and move out of.

Gaarn has a small chance of dropping Gaarn's Leggings of Infestation.

Go-Kan (Yaungol)
Go-Kan can be found sitting on a small boat in the middle of a pond just north of Crane Wing Refuge.

Go-Kan's abilities are: Bellowing RageRushing Charge and Yaungol Stomp. Yaungol stomp does some heavy damage, but the range is small - so it's easy to move away from. Bellowing rage you need to be aware of. He deals a lot more damage when this buff is up, combined with Rushing Charge the results can be devastating. When he uses Bellowing Rage, he will be slowed though - so it is possible to just run out of striking range until the buff wears off.

Go-Kan has a small chance to drop Go-Kan's Golden Trousers.

Cournith Waterstrider (Jinyu)
Cournith Waterstrider spawns in the largest structure in Fallsong Village. I recommend pulling him outside of the structure in order to more easily avoid his rain dance ability.

Cournith has three abilities, they are: Rain DanceTorrent and Water Bolt. The absolute most important thing you need to know when fighting him is to interrupt Torrent! If not interrupted, this spell will kill his main target. Rain dance hurts, but it is survivable. The rain droplets can be moved away from, this spell can also be interrupted (but I like to save my interrupts for Torrent because of cool-downs).

Cournith has a small chance to drop Courinth Waterstrider's Silken Finery. (Note that the name of the pants is slightly different than this mobs actual name- a typo perhaps?)
Spriggin (Hozen)
Spriggin spawns on the remains of a ship jutting out of the eastern side of the southern most island Unga Ingoo. Behind him in this screenshot you can also see the Barrel of Banana Infused Rum, which is part of the Lost and Found Achievement. So be sure to check if it's up if your already there!

Spriggin's abilities are: BananarangGoing Bananas and Toss Filth. Bananarang deals a hefty amount of damage, just move to the side to get out of it's path. Going Bananas is the ability he uses that can be the killer. He jumps around, and if he lands on you it'll knock out over half of your health in one shot. It's rather difficult to avoid this, be ready for some defensive cd's and/or heals.

Spriggin has a small chance to drop Spriggin's Sproggin' Leggin'.
